St. Patrick's Day

The St. Patrick's Day memory that stands out most to me is celebrating my Grandma Berry's birthday. Maybe the reason that my mom never had green eggs and ham with four leaf clover napkins and cups or such was because she wanted my Grandma to feel like it was her very own special day.

I remember a few times forgetting to wear green and getting pinched all day long. As a child, I remember feeling upset that I forgot to wear green. As I got a little older, I remember getting green paper or ink and hiding it on an inconspicuous place on my body so that if someone pinched me, I could reveal my hidden green and pinch them back ten times. It was fun to finally be smart enough to be the pincher rather than the pinchee.

To this day, I don't make a huge deal of St. Patrick's Day, but a little green fun brightens St. Patty's Day especially now my Grandma has passed on. St. Patrick's Day ideas you may want to consider for next year's celebration.

Second Opinions

The engine light on my daughter's car kept flashing on until one day it stayed on. She took it to the nearest mechanic and he told her that she had a cracked engine block. The estimated cost for the repair would be at least $1500. She decided it would probably be better to buy another car so she started shopping around to find a good deal. After spending some time shopping and researching, she realized that there weren't any deals good enough to fit her budget.

She called a few other mechanics to check their pricing for the repair of a cracked engine block, but they were all about the same price. She ended up taking it to the second mechanic she contacted because he said he would be able to finish it quicker than the first repairman that diagnosed the problem.

My daughter received a call the next day telling her that she did not have a cracked engine block. He said there were some leaks that needed to be repaired which would cost a few hundred dollars, but it would not be necessary to get a new engine block.

I have often heard that it is wise to get a second opinion when considering surgery, or treatment for serious medical conditions. My daughter's experience with her car, made me realize that it is a good idea to get a second opinion for anything that is going to cost over $250. By the way, you can quickly retrieve needed information to compare services and prices without leaving your home by using computer search engines.

Logoed Massagers

Getting a massage from a professional masseuse can get pricey. Many are finding that a variety of do- it- yourself blank or logoed massagers are inexpensive, but very effective.

Massage has been proven to increase circulation and stimulate the lymph system enabling the body to better rid itself of toxins that can stay in the body and cause sickness and disease. Massage also relaxes and softens injured or overused muscles reducing spasms and cramping, or other pain and discomfort.

With age, I am noticing more achy joints and muscles. I feel so much better after my husband massages me with the star or hand shaped massagers (my favorites). It relieves tension and increases my joint flexibility.

Choose from a selection of do-it-yourself massagers to find what your favorites are.
